Self Love - journey of self discovery/ part 1

They say the key to happiness is self love and self discovery! I couldn't agree more to this but putting this into practice in this fast paced life requires effort.

As a part of my journey of self love and self discovery,  one of the key elements was to put my body into great shape and the second was to spend more time exploring and enjoying nature!

Baby steps taken to  achieve my goals - a sports bicycle to keep my body fit and explore the surroundings !

And a few weekends of doing this activity makes me feel a whole lot better.

Here are the some of the shots taken while cycling around my neighbourhood.

Caught The Beautiful Sunset

Idols of hindu deities in a local temple

Labourer kids and their shanties in the background
My neighbourhood is a upcoming sector of one of the biggests metros in India . As there is a lot of construction ongoing around the area where I live,  a lot of migrant labourers have moved here. However, they live in make shift shanties and the general living conditions are poor.
Cakes made out of cow dung
In a small little village, close to where I stay the villagers use cow dung as fuel to cook food. They make cakes out of wet cow dung and let it dry in sun. These cakes are then burnt in mud stoves as fuel and cook food.

This is what I love about the area where I live...This is where the rustic meets city life!

Wow, it's interesting to see such a different way of life. And so humbling too. It shows us we're so lucky to have electricity and gas, but we take everything for granted.

Cow dung as fuel?
that's pretty innovative and environmental friendly!
No doubt, necessity is the mother of invention.

Someone told me, it's about self contentment. I'd say it's innovative what they did to cow dung. But going to self journey, self discovery and self love, I also would agree to that. Someone came to me, whether or not she should go back to work abroad, I told her, she'd have to figure out what she'd want to do. Yes, you can have a lot of money, amass wealth but won't get what you wanted in the end. So it's a matter of choosing to do, what you really want to do. :-) Great post! Makes me reflect again. I had my fair share of self discovery, and it made me know myself more now.

Delhi.. May I know the Indian food (or snack, or fruit??) called 'manisan'. The food is round, seems soft, sweet, and eat as a dessert. I have ever seen in one of Bollywood movie.

That's also the place where everything is simpler and life is simpler. Even being happy is simpler. I can see why you love the rustic lifestyle!

Self Love is not selfish, the more we love ourselves then we will know and discover ourselves more. When i know love ourselves we will be able to share the love and love other better.

Cow Dung as fuel sounds great. Now I wonder if people here in the Philippines can do that too :)

Interesting that cow dung can be excellent fuel source. I think it's really to appreciate and learn more about ourselves before we reach out to others.

I have not ridden a bike since childhood. When I tried to ride again recently, I could not balance anymore. I should relearn how to ride again! :-(

Oh, Good luck in you journey of self-love. By the way, is it safe to use cow dungs as fuel. Wouldn't it contaminate the food?

I love your photos as they do show the other side of life. It's interesting how folks are expressing surprise at cow dung as fuel. It's used in many villages and farming communities around the world for eons.

East meets West, in which you enjoyed the beauty of it. Even the cow dung made you realized that life is what you make it after all.
